Starry Nights @ CPI 2024: come one, come all!

You are invited to join us at one of the concerts on our Starry Nights at CPI Recital Series! Numerous concerts will take place within the next three weeks, both in person and via livestream.
 
Admission is free but donations are appreciated!

Starry Nights I Faculty & Participant Recital: Friday, June 7th, 7:00PM

LSU School of Music Recital Hall 
Featuring: MET Assistant Conductor Howard Watkins, Jorge Parodi (Juilliard school),  playing cheerful Italian Opera overtures, joined by Christopher Turbessi and Amy Petrongelli interpreting Tom Cipullo’s Late Summer. And University of Michigan faculty Elena Lacheva and Ana Maria Otamendi will regale us with Mozart’s witty Four-Hand Sonata in D Major.

Faculty and Participant Recital: Saturday, June 8th at 7:00PM

Join us for a concert featuring faculty and participants playing art song, opera arias, four-hand repertoire, and more!

A wonderful evening with a variety of music from Europe, Latin America, and the United States, performed by the wonderful participants of the Vocal Academy, the String Institute, and the Collaborative Piano Institute!

Starry Nights II Faculty & Participant Recital: Friday, June 14th, 7:00PM

LSU School of Music Recital Hall 
Come hear Grammy-award winner Cecilia Duarte, collaborative piano legend Rita Sloan, LSU Faculty and renowned cellist Dennis Parker,  LSU Voice faculty Sandra Moon, with pianists Elena Lacheva and Ana Maria Otamendi.

Participant Recital II: Saturday, June 15th at 7:00PM

LSU School of Music Recital Hall 
Join us for a concert featuring faculty Charles Goodman, Dennis Parker, Amaro Dubois and Simón Gollo side by side with participants playing piano quintets, brand new compositions by the participants of the Composition Intensive, and Latin American music!

Starry Nights III Faculty Recital: thursday, June 20th, 7:00PM

LSU School of Music Recital Hall 
Martin Katz (world-renowned pianist) will perform Ravel’s whimsical Histoires Naturelles with fantastic baritone Jean-Bernard Cerin (Cornell University). Espen Lilleslåtten (LSU Professor of Violin) and Elena Abend will regale us with movements from Beethoven’s  joyful Violin Sonata No. 8; while Sandra Moon and Elena Lacheva will perform three versions of Paul Verlaine’s Claire de Lune.

Final Participant Recital: Friday, June 21st at 7:00PM

LSU School of Music Recital Hall 
Come hear the final recital of the Collaborative Strings Institute, the Vocal Academy, and the Collaborative Piano Institute! In addition to new and exciting Latin American works, our wonderful faculty Espen Lilleslatten and Dennis Parker will perform with piano, string and voice participants during this recital that includes some of the most famous piano trios and quintets!
