JUNE 1-8, 2025
The Collaborative Piano Institute is proud to announce the return of the Bassoon Intensive, led by Dr. Darrel Hale (UNT) and Dr. Jeffrey Lyman (University of Michigan). This one-week intensive offers the collegiate bassoonist an opportunity to explore the repertoire for bassoon and piano and refine their skill as a performer and collaborative musician through coachings, masterclasses, and private instruction.
The intensive will focus on the collaborative repertoire for bassoon and piano and includes individual instruction, coaching, studio technique classes, reed making, as well as lecture and group classes on many topics.
Students that participate in our bassoon intensive will:
- Play their selected repertoire in collaboration with a CPI pianist
- Receive private lessons with Dr. Hale and Dr. Lyman and coachings with the CPI faculty
- Participate in masterclasses with Dr. Hale, Dr. Lyman and the CPI faculty
- Attend special topics classes: learning and practicing effectively, performance anxiety, orchestral repertoire, reed making, how to collaborate with different instruments, and much more!
- Attend and participate in faculty concerts
- Explore and perform new music
Tuition: $700 for the seven day intensive program plus room and board (optional). Merit scholarships are available (more information in the application form).
