CPI Concert Series and Wells Pianos present An Evening of Song at The History Theater

$15 – $35In the 18th and 19th centuries, musicians performed their compositions at Salon Concerts presented in drawing rooms of opulent mansions. Join legendary pianist Martin Katz and internationally acclaimed baritone Jesse Blumberg at The History Theatre in St. Paul on June 20th at 7:00pm for an evening of song presented in “Salon Concert” style on the set of the Historic Glensheen Mansion.
Martin Katz, who frequently performs at Carnegie Hall, has accompanied the world’s most celebrated vocalists such as Marilyn Horne, Kathleen Battle, Frederica von Stade, Cecilia Bartoli, and Jose Carerras.
Jesse Blumberg, praised by the New York Times for his “rich sound and dramatic authority,” has appeared in opera productions around the globe, including the lead in Grapes of Wrath, premiered at the MN Opera.
This recital, presented by CPI Concert Series and Wells Pianos, will present a life’s journey through Beethoven’s An die ferne Geliebte, Schumann’s Liederkreis op. 24, Ravel’s Histories naturelies. and songs by Charles Ives.
