Charlie, a spunky Maltese-Westie mix, was rescued by the Houston SPCA and adopted in 2013. He is eight years old, enjoys relaxing in people’s laps, and appreciates bananas, chicken, and freshly washed knitted blankets. He was the unofficial mascot of the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston, and he is currently the unofficial mascot of the LSU School of Music (sadly he doesn’t get along with Mike the Tiger, the official LSU mascot, who thinks Charlie is a snack). His recent stage appearances include Moores Opera Center‘s production of Manon by Massenet, and a study for Musetta’s Lapdog in Opera in the Heights‘s run of La Bohème. Charlie joins the Institute for its full duration and is an integral part of the downtime available to faculty and students.
Come meet him in person!
